The New Empire of Malplaquet

After a freak accident in his study, Jedekiah Biddle has discovered the actual head of his ancestor, Captain John Biddle – the original kidnapper of the Lilliputians from their island home.

Inspired by this chance but fortunate event, Jedekiah organises events in the gardens of Malplaquet to finally trap the tiny people who have evaded capture for so long. However, their special teams spoil his plans, very much helped by many of the statues and also by some unusual weather.

Charlie, the younger brother of Jamie, thinks he has finally discovered the big secret that Jamie has been hiding, until he has a bad encounter with some ‘fairies,’ and these characters also cause havoc (and amusement) at the school’s Sports Day.

Nigriff, the determined and celebrated archivist of the Lilliputians, at last uncovers some vital information about a famous ancestor of his own, and realises the New Empire can – and must – finally begin. Unfortunately he becomes Jedekiah’s prisoner during the astonishing celebrations to mark the restoration of Malplaquet’s encircling wall.

All seems lost. But this remarkable evening is one that Jamie and his friends would never forget, the night that the New Empire of Lilliput might actually, at long last, arrive…
